What
You Can Do...
Your Time:
Agenda for Children
has volunteer and internship opportunities for people in the
New Orleans area. There are many opportunities to provide
meaningful service while learning about policies and practices
related to children and families. Interns and volunteers also
find that the work environment at Agenda for Children includes
daily experiences in team work, contact with a variety of
constituencies and communities, and orientation to the elements
and impact of public policy. We are looking for individuals
who can commit a specific block of time to a given project,
and we are flexible about what the block of time might be.
Successful internship experiences in the past have typically
involved 2 or 3 days a week for a semester.
Your Voice:
Become informed
and involved. There is always a need for advocates willing
to learn more about the issues and spread the word, write
letters and make phone calls on children's behalf.
For our efforts to be successful, we need you to be an active
partner! Progress in Congress and in the state legislature
depends greatly on state and local district-level action across
the country. It is essential that your senators, representatives,
and members of Congress hear from you, your colleagues, community
leaders, and others about the importance of quality, accessible,
affordable child care and early education.
